The city of Forney in Kaufman County, Texas has been nicknamed the Antique Capital of Texas due to its Antique Row replete with shops offering valuable collectables, artefacts, and relics. This same road, officially named U.S. Route 80, leads west to Dallas and east to Terrell. Forney lies four miles southeast of the fresh water reservoir Lake Ray Hubbard. The large population of more than six fish species makes the lake an angler’s haven. Healthy lifestyle and exercising are promoted by several sports associations focusing on softball, kickball, soccer, baseball, and football as well as by 242 acres of green area, consisting of mini-parks, neighborhood parks, community parks, and undeveloped parkland with Mulberry Park and McCurry Parkland being the largest and most well-equipped ones.
